We operate a waiting list. If you are interested in being added to this list, please get in touch using the "Contact us" menu.
Priority for the allocation of plots is always given to Speen residents but, should no Speen residents be on the waiting list, plots may be allocated to the wider Newbury community. Application can be made to the Association by emailing the Secretary at speenallotments@gmail.com . We will send a form for you to complete to place you on the waiting list. Alternatively, you may come to the allotments on a Saturday morning when you may be lucky to find the Secretary, Mrs Nicky Jenkins, or other members of the Trustee management team on their plots.
When plots are available you will be contacted and offered a plot. Remember that Speen residents ALWAYS take priority and may overtake a non-Speen resident on the waiting list. Allocation of plots is at the discretion of the Trustees and they reserve the right to allocate plots as they see fit.
Allotment sizes are normally quoted in terms of ‘poles’. .

What is a 'pole' ? An allotment is traditionally measured in rods (perches or poles), an old measurement dating back to Anglo-Saxon times. 10 poles is the accepted size of an allotment, the equivalent of 250 square metres or about the size of a doubles tennis court.
